Bangladesh stands at the dawn of a new era. The National Citizen Party (NCP), also known as the Jatiya Nagorik Party, is not just a political organization; it is the organized political expression of the aspirations of the July 2024 Revolution. We are the voice of the students, the workers, and the masses who reclaimed their country from authoritarianism.

Who We Are

Officially established on February 28, 2025, the National Citizen Party emerged from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiya Nagorik Committee. We are the first major political party in the history of Bangladesh led by the youth who spearheaded the uprising against fascism.

We represent a break from the dynastic and corrupt political settlements of the past. We are here to dismantle the structures of inequality and build a state that truly belongs to its citizens.

Our Vision: The Second Republic

Our primary goal is the establishment of a Second Republic in Bangladesh. The old political systems have failed to protect the rights of the people. We envision a Bangladesh where:

1. Sovereignty belongs to the citizens, not a ruling elite.
2. Justice is absolute, ensuring accountability for the July massacres and decades of corruption.
3. Meritocracy prevails over nepotism and partisanship.
4. Pluralism is celebrated, protecting the rights of all ethnic, religious, and cultural communities.

Core Agenda

To realize this vision, the NCP is committed to a concrete roadmap for state reform:

1. A New Democratic Constitution

The current constitution has been used as a tool for authoritarianism. We advocate for a Constituent Assembly to draft a new, democratic constitution that limits power, ensures checks and balances, and enshrines the fundamental rights of every Bangladeshi.

2. Dismantling Fascist Structures

Removing a dictator is not enough; we must remove the system that creates dictators. We are dedicated to institutional reforms in the judiciary, police, and administration to ensure they serve the public, not the party in power.

3. Economic Justice and Youth Employment

We fight for an economy that works for everyone. Our policies focus on solving the unemployment crisis, ending syndicates that manipulate market prices, and ensuring fair wages for our farmers and workers.
